The Genesis

Recognizing the value of markets expected to be spawned by the liberalization of the telecommunications industry in the region, Aviation Communications Ltd. (AVCOM) - a Cayman Islands based company with a long history and an enviable record of providing telecommunications services to the aviation industry in particular - moved early to acquire a number of ICT operating licenses. United Telecommunications Services Ltd. (UniTel) was registered by AVCOM to operate its ICT licenses, and on October 29, 2003, UniTel formally received its licenses from the Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA), signaling its entry into the new era of telecommunications in the Cayman Islands.
